Singtel, short for Singapore Telecommunications Limited, was founded in 1879 as a government telegraph service and privatised in 1993. Today it is Southeast Asia's largest telco group, serving over 700 million customers globally through its subsidiaries. Singtel operates Singapore's most extensive 5G Standalone network, achieving nationwide outdoor coverage ahead of schedule.

StarHub was established in 1998 as Singapore's second full-service telco, disrupting the market with competitive mobile and cable TV bundles. It became publicly listed on the SGX in 2004 and has since grown into a leading integrated info-communications company. StarHub is actively expanding its 5G NSA network while investing in enterprise digital solutions and smart city infrastructure.

M1 Limited was Singapore's first digital network operator, launched in 1997 with a focus on mobile-only services and competitive pricing. Acquired by Keppel and SPH in 2019, M1 has repositioned itself as a digital-first telco targeting tech-savvy consumers and enterprise clients. The company is a key partner in Singapore's 5G development, sharing network infrastructure with Singtel under a national rollout agreement.

TPG Telecom entered the Singapore market in 2020 as the country's fourth telco, backed by Australia's TPG Corporation. The operator shook up the market with its ultra-low pricing strategy and briefly offered free SIMs to early adopters. While TPG's network is 4G-only and coverage lags behind the big three, it remains a popular choice for budget-conscious consumers and those seeking a cost-effective secondary SIM.
